Fun Weekend Activities In Galveston

If you are looking for a way to pass the day without emptying your wallet, Galveston is the place to be. Our city is home to some fun activities that you can do for free. Check out these three attractions near Club of the Isle apartments, then head out and experience them for yourself.

In September of 2008, Hurricane Ike swept through the city and the force of the storm uprooted many trees. After the storm, the city lost many trees due to salt water damage. Fortunately, local artists were able to save what the storm destroyed and the result is beautiful tree sculptures. You can take your very own tree sculpture tour by printing out a map of the sculptures. You’ll see beautiful creations such as alligators, angels, sea life, and birds in this artistic display.

If you are in the mood for adventure on the high seas, take a Bolivar Ferry Tour. The ferry runs 7 days a week and will take you to the Bolivar Peninsula where you can go sightseeing. Or if you prefer, you can stay on the boat and enjoy cruising around.

Do you love seeing local wildlife? Take a Galveston Turtle Tour and see our local sea turtles at the National Marine Fisheries Service. Free tours are offered on Thursdays and can be booked by calling in advance. You will watch a quick video about the sea turtles and then your guide will show you the facility’s loggerhead turtles, where you can learn about how they live and what they eat.
