Visit ICE LAND in Galveston

While it’s true there is little chance to play in the snow and ice this winter in Galveston, don’t give up. ICE LAND has returned to Moody Gardens with spectacular ice sculptures and is one of the many fun things to do in Galveston near Club of the Isle apartments this winter. ICE LAND is open now through January 8, 2017.

Two million pounds of ice have been hand-sculptured by numerous artisans into their representation of a Caribbean Christmas. Included are an ice slide and ice bar! You may visit nine different scenes featuring schools of beautiful fish, eagle rays, turtles, dolphins and hammerhead sharks along the way through this Caribbean wonder world. Be sure to wear warm clothing – remember you are embarking into a world of ice.

Also at Moody Gardens is the 15th Annual Festival of Lights. More than one million lights bring the gardens to life during evening hours with animated light displays and nightly live entertainment. The outdoor ice rink is the area’s only ice skating venue – you can bring your own skates or rentals are available. You may also enjoy holiday train rides, see the original Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer in 4D or the Polar Express in 2D.

From December 16-25, the Cirque Joyeux Noel Dinner and Show at the Gardens features an international cast of performers including acrobats, aerialists, illusionists, comedians and even daring canines! Dinner is a holiday buffet of choices guaranteed to tantalize any palate.

Moody Gardens is open 10am – 10pm during the holiday season and is only minutes away from the Club of Isle apartments. Individual attraction tickets are available, as are tickets to catch all the holiday activities and regular attractions as well. The Aquarium Pyramid’s penguin exhibit is a favorite this time of year. However, the Rainforest Pyramid should not be overlooked.

If you are looking for a home close to Galveston’s year-round attractions, be sure to come by Club of the Isle for a tour.
