Big House Antiques is located at 2212 Ships Mechanic Row, and open Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm, and 12 pm to 5 pm on Sundays. They’re closed on Wednesdays.

Browse Only the Best at St. John Antiques

Just a short walk away is St. John Antiques, a longtime shopping destination which only carries vintage and antique items from the 1950s and earlier. St. John Antiques has been in business for over 40 years selling in shops in Galveston and Comfort, TX, and purchasing their current location at 2001 Postoffice Street (Avenue E) in 2014. The shop specializes in smaller collectibles and will occasionally stock furniture items. Their selection of antique toys, vintage, Bakelite, silver, and costume jewelry is second to none.

St John’s selection of antiques is carefully curated by owners Harry and Frances, who spend five to six weeks a year traveling the country to find unique items at antique shows, country shops, and antique malls. Open Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday 11 am to 6 pm. They’re occasionally open on Wednesdays.
