When you’re in the mood for a brisk walk, jog, or run near your Galveston home, there are a wealth of choices just around the corner from your Club of the Isle apartments. Whether you’re in the mood for a sea view, a forest view, or a more urban vibe, there’s something here for you.

Seawall Urban Park

Starting at Seawall Urban Park, you can pick up the island’s famous Seawall Boulevard to enjoy unparalleled views along the nation’s longest continuous sidewalk! This walkway is quite popular with joggers, runners, walkers, cyclists, and rollerbladers, and depending on the time of day, it can be quite crowded.

If you’re looking to avoid paying for parking, avoid this route between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. For sunrise and sunset, however? Unbeatable.

Trails at Dixie Farm Road Park

If you’re in the mood for a quieter and more contemplative vibe, consider the trails at Dixie Farm Road Park. Cooler, less crowded, and partially shaded, these trails offer scenic and relaxing routes.

Just a quick drive from your apartments in Galveston, this park is open from dawn to dusk. If you hit this park at the right time of day, the trails are simply glorious.

The Historic District

The Galveston chapter of Great Runs recommends the city’s historic district as a viable option.

Rather than map a specific route, we recommend an exploratory run around this area, taking in the historic district’s streets.  Enjoy Victorian area homes and some grand commercial buildings.

Urban street running requires that you pay extra careful attention to your surroundings; but we trust that if you’re alert and keep your head up, you’ll enjoy this downtown route very much! Make sure to keep your distance from other pedestrians to keep everybody safe while on a run near your Galveston home.
