With Galveston’s access to prime sandy beaches, it’s not unusual to spot various sandcastles during a stroll by the shore. But have you ever wondered how professional sand sculptors make those perfect shapes and edges that never seem to happen when you put your sculpting skills to the test? Well, with the new arrival of Sandy Feet Sand Castle Services to Galveston as of June 2019, you can now learn all the tricks to mastering the art of the shores with Sandcastle building lessons.
Sandy Feet Sand Castle Services
Sandy Feet Sand Castle Services is well-known on South Padre Island for their 20+ years of experience making sand sculpture commissions, beach billboards, and providing sandcastle building lessons to residents. With nine years of experience under his belt at Sandy Feet, Emerson Schreiner is bringing his skills to Galveston to share with adults and kids of all ages.
Emerson offers sandcastle building lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced builders, and large groups. You get to choose your lesson location along the Galveston shore, and Emerson provides the equipment! Following his step-by-step instructions, you’ll have a professionally carved castle in one to two hours. According to the website, although “you won’t be a pro,” you’ll have the fundamentals of what it takes to make a sculpted castle, and you might discover a new hobby to enjoy!
For groups up to 10 people, private lessons run $100 for 1 hour for beginners. Intermediate and advanced lessons run $100 an hour but require a 2-hour minimum. Groups larger than 10 people also require a 2-hour minimum and cost $100 an hour plus $10 per extra person beyond 10.
Every Saturday in June through August, Emerson is also offering free lessons at Stewart Beach at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. You will find him by the water, straight down from the pavilion.
