Would you like to enjoy a journey back in time? Then head to the League City Historic District. An easy drive from Club of the Isle, it features charming shops and fascinating museums set among towering oak trees.

Many of the businesses are found in historic buildings, with highlights including:

The Victorian Lady

The Victorian Lady transports visitors back to the more genteel time of the Victorian era. Kim Sesher and J’Nean Henderson offer fashion shows and living history demonstrations. They highlight the many customs of the lady and also have over 1,000 costumes dating between 1860 and 1912. Kim and J’Nean host numerous events throughout the year and perform at various venues around town.

Annette’s Emporium

Step into Annette’s Emporium, where all of the goods are made in America. The shop represents over 400 of the county’s best artists who create everything from home decor to fun, whimsical gifts. Guests enjoy the one-of-kind shopping experience. They find competitive prices and a friendly staff that offers an ever-changing selection. Items include gourmet foods, handcrafted mugs, and goat milk soap.

Butler Longhorn Museum

The Butler Longhorn Museum is a unique destination that highlights Milby Butler’s role in saving the Texas longhorn from extinction. The exhibits feature fascinating artifacts and also tell of League City’s founding around the Butler Ranch and Cattle Station. One of the displays includes Barbed Wire. When the settlers moved west in the mid-to-late 1800s, they discovered there were no trees to build fences and no stone to build walls. They decided to try barbed wire, which originated in the first half of the century. It allowed the open west to fade into the past and ushered in a new age of ranches.

The League City Historic District is just one of the premier neighborhoods that you can explore as a resident of our Galveston apartments. We are also close to outdoor activities and so much more.
