If you enjoy eating a bowl of piping hot chili with an ice-cold brew, then don’t miss Yaga’s Chili Quest and Beer Fest.
This fun-filled festival takes place January 19th & 20th and attracts visitors from across the United States. Best of all, it’s right here in Galveston, and just a short trip from Club of the Isle.
Yaga’s Chili Quest and Beer Fest Samples
Wander through the Strand District to sample award-winning chili from more than sixty teams of chefs. Purchase your own chili-tasting cup and start making the rounds. Yaga’s special tasting cup includes unlimited samples over the course of three hours. You can also opt for a chili and beer tasting combo.
5K Fun Run
Lace up your running shoes for the Beerfooter Beach Run, and take in the beautiful scenery along the route. The race begins at Beerfoot Brewery, and crazy costumes are encouraged. Additionally, your 5K registration includes not one, not two, but three free beers! What a great incentive to exercise.
The Beer Fest features both local and national breweries, and those participating this year include:
Galveston Island Brewery – This is the largest brewery in Galveston, and it showcases classic beer styles from around the world. It has won awards at the prestigious Great American Beer Festival and is a local favorite. Brews include Blue Bridge Amber Ale, Causeway Kolsch, and Citra Mellow.
Twisted X Brewing Company – The Twisted X Brewing Company calls Dripping Springs, Texas home, and is known for producing small-batch craft beers. The brewers take pride in using the finest ingredients, and beers include Cow Creek, Austin Lager, and Hye-Biscus.
Sierra Nevada Brewing Company – The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is from Chico, California, and it has been a craft beer pioneer since 1980. The brewers take inspiration from the Sierra Nevada Mountains, designing their beer to be as bold and unwavering as the storied mountain peaks. Choices include Sidecar Orange IPA, Tropical Torpedo, and Hazy Little Thing.
